We decided to cover a mighty tune by the Sheringham Springsteen himself, Allan Smethurst. Anyone casting a slight against the Singing Postman is liable to find themselves overstamped.
There are many new items added into the Kings Lynn bands archive that the scope of it has widened from 80s bands and the archive is now called Kings Lynn bands 1977-1997.
Music and more information has also been added to the Exploding Hamsters page
Photos, tickets and posters have been stolen from various FB sites and liberally sprinkled round
If you have anything for the archive, let us know.
A tape of a 1980 Exploding Hamsters gig in Pentney has turned up. One track, Burn The Norcat Down, is featured on our Exploding Hamsters Page.
We do love a poem, especially when its about the countryside, death and Winter...
There's a certain Slant of light
Winter Afternoons –
That oppresses, like the Heft
Of Cathedral Tunes –
Heavenly Hurt, it gives us –
We can find no scar
But internal difference
Where the Meanings, are –
None may teach it – Any –
'Tis the Seal Despair –
An imperial affliction
Sent us of the Air –
When it comes, the Landscape listens –
Shadows – hold their breath –
'When it goes, tis like the Distance
On the look of Death –
Nice article and Rob looks good 🙂
